Spring Arrives with Fresh New Flavors and Plenty of Reasons to Take Some Time for Springtime

LEBANON, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Winter seemed to last forever, but Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® makes the wait for spring worthwhile with fresh-from-the-garden flavors throughout the menu March 21 through May 22.

"Springtime is the perfect time to introduce refreshing flavor combinations, along with a few surprises," said Cracker Barrel Chef Bill Kintzler. "Fresh berries add a welcome twist to salads, and shrimp paired with homemade grits make a delightful departure from the ordinary." Cracker Barrel hopes they've created a new guest favorite with the debut of its Sweet Southern Peach Iced Tea. "Brewing it fresh all day from loose-leaf peach flavored tea results in just a hint of sweetness and a very appealing aroma," said Kintzler.

In addition to introducing the new springtime choices, two popular favorites from previous Cracker Barrel seasonal events, the Grilled Reuben Platter and the North Atlantic Haddock, have earned places on the regular menu beginning today.

New Breakfast Choices — Served All Day

Three Multigrain Pancakes are griddle-cooked to a fluffy golden brown and then topped off with real butter and served with 100% Pure Natural Syrup on the side.

Fresh blackberries and wild Maine blueberries in low-fat vanilla yogurt add a fresh twist to the popular Wholesome Mornin' Sampler. Topped with a honey-oat granola mix and almonds and served with a fresh baked blueberry-raspberry muffin, two farm-fresh Grade A eggs, prepared just the way you like 'em, and a choice of thick-sliced, hickory-smoked bacon, smoked sausage patties, or turkey sausage patties.

The new Six Grain n' Granola Pancake Breakfast blends honey oat granola mix and almonds into the batter then griddle-cooks it to a fluffy golden brown. Three pancakes are topped with real butter and served with Dickinson's® Pure Honey and fresh sliced bananas. Served with two eggs and a choice of hickory smoked bacon, smoked sausage patties, or turkey sausage patties.

New for Lunch and Dinner— Served Daily Starting at 11 a.m.

A generous serving of thinly sliced seasoned corned beef, four slices of Swiss cheese, sauerkraut grilled and placed on our grilled seeded rye bread with our own special sauce make our Reuben one to remember.

A dozen buttermilk batter-fried shrimp go in every Shrimp Po'Boy. Topped with fresh shredded lettuce, ripe sliced tomatoes, and zesty tartar sauce in a soft-baked cheddar cheese roll. Served with homemade cole slaw and steak fries.

The Grilled Chicken n' Strawberry Salad looks and tastes like spring. Marinated grilled chicken tenderloins on a bed of fresh greens and spring mix are topped with fresh ripe strawberries, feta cheese, chopped pineapple, and sunflower seeds. Served with country pepper vinaigrette dressing on the side.

Enjoy a Southern traditional meal like no other with the new Country Shrimp n' Scratch-Made Grits. Tender Shrimp are lightly simmered in a buttery sauce with green onions then served on homemade grits made with Colby cheese. Served with a seasoned vegetable medley of broccoli, red peppers, zucchini and yellow squash, plus grilled corn muffins.

North Atlantic Haddock is dusted in a traditional cornmeal and flour mix, grilled, and then topped with a lemon wedge. Served with a choice of three country vegetables and made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits or corn muffins.
